Postcards from West Palm Beach

This past week, Shawn and I stayed in the amazing Tideline Ocean Resort and Spa in West Palm Beach. Though it was our first time visiting the city, it's safe to say that there will be more visits to come. It's kind of hard not to fall in love with crystal skies, blue beaches, and exceptional weather. We spent our days indulging in what we love best, i.e relaxing on the beach (everyone knows that I get my entire life from tanning), eating great food, and exploring the city.

I stumbled upon this top for $10 at the end of last summer. It wasn't my size, but decided that it would make a great cover up! Forgive me for not remembering where I purchased it from.
The bag is by Florabella. I work with the brand, but you can find great pieces of theirs at Calypso St Barth or other specialty boutiques.

I absolutely loved the European style flare of City Place - a premier destination for shopping and dining.
Other things to enjoy: Live entertainment, comedy club, bars, and movie theater.
The center also included residencies like apartments, condos, and townhouses.
It's a great place for a walk during the day or fun night out.

West Palm beach is such a beautiful place. I'm already in Shawn's ear about our next visit. There's so much more to see!

Lyasia

Spring Simplicity

Jacket: American Eagle ( Similar ) Dress: Forever 21 ( Similar ) Bag: Izzy & Ali ( Similar ) Earrings: Lisa Freede  Necklace: Lisa Freede ( Similar )
Spring has finally sprung here in New York and I'm ready to dress the part.
I must say, that my love for maxi dresses are on another level. I find them to be extremely easy, effortless, and perfect for any occasion. I decided to style this outfit with minimal accessories to allow my burgundy pleated maxi dress (which I'm obsessed with by the way) to be the focal point. I call this my 'Halston' dress. For those who aren't aware, this style dress is very inspired by the 70s design god who's sexy yet elegant dresses became a staple for American Disco. I'm talking about Studio 54 disco realness! (Yet another obsession that can be discussed in a later post).

Sincerely,
Lyasia

Herbal Fixation

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a love for many things. And when I love something, I really love it! So of course I had to share my latest obsession, Lyfe Tea. It's a blend of traditional herbs that helps with digestion and eliminates toxins from the body. It also provides a higher energy level without the use of artificial ingredients while promoting a feeling of fullness.

I've always been more of a tea girl oppose to a coffee girl, so to drink this tea with such great benefits was a plus. What I love about Lyfe Tea is that it keeps me from feeling sluggish in the middle of the day and prevents bloating. Come on...what female wouldn't love that?!

Lyfe Tea is extremely easy to incorporate in your busy schedule. With one cup every morning to kick start your day and one cup of the detox tea every night to rid your body of unwanted waste and toxins, you won't have to dedicate much time at all. And when I say it rids your body of unwanted waste....I mean it!

Lyfe Tea: 14 Day Detox

Healthy living is more than just a few simple daily habits - it's a lifestyle. I'm proud to say that I've been committed to a healthier lifestyle for the past few months. Lyfe tea has been the perfect addition and I couldn't be happier. I feel great on a daily basis and that's exactly how it should be. Any healthy living tips or products you may want to share? Leave them in the comments below.

Lyasia

Coachella Inspiration

The annual Coachella Festival will be kicking off this weekend, so you can expect to see and hear about it for days. With the festival taking place in the blistering heat of the desert for a cost that can be half a month's rent for many of us, you would assume most would turn it down. Well, that's far from what actually happens. For years, thousands of people would purchase their 3 day passes to enjoy the festivities regardless of the price or heat.

Although I've never attended Coachella, from what I've always noticed about the way people would dress shows that it's all about channeling your inner hippie. Many are there decked in their best bohemian looks, which I love! Quite frankly, it's what makes the most sense for being in the sun all day.

Here are some of the key pieces that I would choose for creating a Coachella inspired outfit.

Banana Republic
Wide Brim Hats: The secret to staying cool while under the 90 degree sun, is by wearing a wide brim hat. You'll look cool and feel it as well.

Jimmy Choo
Retro Glam Sunglasses: Rocking these retro inspired style sunglasses will kick your laid back look up a notch.

Free People
Romper: A romper is my 'go to' piece when going out on a hot day. This white lace romper is lightweight and great for the boho inspired look.

Rebecca Minkoff
Fringe Bags: One can not have a bohemian outfit without fringe! A fringe crossbody will carry your necessities and complete your festival look.

Cynthia Vincent
Gladiator Sandals: Embrace your femininity with a sandal like the gladiator. It adds a fierce "I am woman, hear me roar" element to the hippie outfit.

Now whether you'll be attending Coachella or not, this is one of many bohemian inspired looks that I love for the warm season. Unfortunately, New York seems to be a late bloomer for Spring weather, which has been keeping us New Yorkers from pulling out our Spring wardrobe. I'm anticipating the warmer days to bring outfits to life for you guys.

I do encourage everyone to try this look, or one similar, for a casual day out. Also, feel free to share your thoughts or ideas in the comments section.

Sincerely,
Lyasia

Models of the Moment

I've been absolutely obsessed with today's young models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid.

Although they've been modeling for some time now, 2014 was their breakout year and they are now the ones to watch out for.

Brunette Beauty
Kendall Jenner (who has recently dropped her last name professionally) has been modeling since age 14 back in 2009. In 2012, she had done shoots with Teen Vogue, Seventeen, and Elle Magazine to name a few. She has also done runway work and swimwear campaigns.

By 2014, Kendall dominated the runways. She was everywhere from New York, Paris, and Milan Fashion week. The little sister to the infamous Kardashian clan is making a name for herself in the fashion industry. With her long legs and great physique, Kendall was destined to be a model.

Runway Looks
Donna Karan, Pucci, Diane von Furstenberg, Ports 1961

I love that Kendall manages to keep her style simple yet very chic. You can tell that she doesn't try too hard to look fashionable. It comes off effortless.

Blonde Bombshell
Gigi Hadid technically started her modeling career at the very young age of 2 years old when she was discovered by Paul Marciano of Guess. She modeled for Baby Guess for a while until her mom had her concentrate on school. In 2011, Gigi signed with IMG Models and reconnected with Guess becoming the face of their 2012 campaign.

By 2014, Gigi was seen all over the runway, fashion magazines, music videos, and also named one of 12 rookies in Sports Illustrated annual swimsuit issue. At such a young age, she is making her mark in the industry. With her Dutch and Palestinian ethnicity, Gigi's blue eyes and pouty lips gives an exotic unique look that's adored in the modeling world.

Runway Looks
Dolce & Gabbana, Anna Sui, Michael Kors, Sonia Rykiel

Gigi has this great edge to her style, but still keeps it casual. Even when wearing denim, she always dresses it up by pairing her booties with a tank or motorcycle jacket.

Kendall and Gigi are best friends outside of modeling

They have both been named members of the emerging fashion movement of "social media modeling" by Harper's Bazaar. Both girls have used Instagram and Twitter to help drive and sustain their modeling careers.

Kendall and Gigi are both from wealthy backgrounds, so it's a pleasure to see them be humble and work hard for what they want. They are the "it" girls right now and I'm not ashamed to say that I'm obsessed with them. These girls are what I call supermodels in the making!

Lyasia

Spring is Near

Spring is near! The weather has been warming up here in NYC, and I couldn't be more excited. I've been anticipating the moment of putting away my winter coats and snow boots.
With yesterday's gorgeous weather (and of course knowing that spring is approaching) here are a few Spring trends straight from the runway that we'll be seeing in stores.

Layering all white
Prabal Gurung, Nonoo, BCBG Max Azria

Lately, the rules of "when" to wear white has turned more into "how" to wear white. Layering multiple pieces and mixing textures were huge on the runway. What I love about wearing white is that it creates a clean and fresh look.

Shirt Dresses
Rebecca Minkoff, Altuzarra

A variety of shirt dresses were sent down the runway creating this perfect trend for Spring. There are so many styling options for the shirt dress which makes it an easy choice for many occasions. The dress can be paired with flats or wedges for a casual look, or with strappy sandals for a dressier look.

Gingham
Lela Rose, Diane von Furstenberg

Gingham check was all over the runway. Although I'm normally not a fan of gingham, I do like that many designers used the print in a modern way. When used incorrectly, it could read "picnic table" really quickly. Pairing the print with solid colors, cut outs, and sheer panels, gives it a more fashionable approach.

Although these looks are from high end designers, I'm looking forward to seeing stores like Forever 21 and H&M's take on these trends as they are known for providing consumers with fashion at extremely affordable prices.

Sincerely,
Lyasia

Trade Show Madness

It's been a while since my last post, but I have a valid reason for neglecting you guys. This week has been absolutely hectic. The beginning of the year is usually busy for my job as we have 3 trade shows pretty much back to back within a 6 week period. This week we were at ENK Coterie (a global marketplace that bridges apparel and accessories to the top retailers, both local and international).

The process is a long haul! We set up the booth, we take orders in the booth during the show, then we pack up and breakdown on the last day. 5 exhausting days to say the least. The show is a great platform for designers to get their line viewed, orders placed, and merchandise into stores.

Here are a few pictures of the two lines that we showcased at Coterie.
Florabella Accessories and Resort Wear

Lisa Freede Jewelry

The show had a good turn out which makes the hard work and long days worth it. Now that I'm back to my regularly scheduled program, I can get back to blogging.

Sincerely,
Lyasia
